Karen and Adam had a breathtaking wedding overlooking the mountain range at the Main Street Station in Breckenridge. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day. Being from out of state, I met Karen and Adam in person for the first time the day of their wedding, although I felt like I had known them forever! They are such a fantastic couple who have so much fun together. As a surprise, Adam had ordered Pharrell William's style hats from London for them to wear as they were announced into the reception as the song "Happy" played! It was fantastic! I am so excited for both of them, and here's a little about what Karen and Adam had to say...
How did you and Adam meet:
"We met on MySpace. Do you remember MySpace?
Back in 2004, when MySpace was small, Karen went searching for single men to date in Manhattan. She found Adam! On his profile, he had a short form: Want to Be My Girlfriend? Take My Girlfriend Quiz!
Karen took the quiz, then he took the quiz for her. They chatted online for a few weeks, then met IRL. Adam and Karen hit it off on their first date, at a Burning Man Decompression party in NYC (random!), on December 5, 2004, and the rest is history."
How did Adam propose:
"When it happened: Saturday, March 23, 2013
Adam likes surprises...
It all started with a Hallmark card. Adam left it in the center console of my car one Friday morning. At the end of a long workday, I was pleasantly surprised to find the mushy "I Love You" card from Adam telling me that we're going on a surprise trip this weekend. He's taking care of everything, but to pack warm, dressy clothes for Saturday evening. I naturally assumed we were taking a road trip somewhere in the tri-state area…
He surprised me yet again on Saturday morning, blindfolded me, and drove us to the airport with bags all packed. We got on a (very early) flight to Denver, landed in a snow storm, drove out to Breckenridge, and as soon as we could got our snowboarding gear on we went up to the mountain. After a long day of travel, we were basically the last riders of the day. We had one short run and Adam said, "Let's see if we can get one last lift to the top!" So as I was fumbling with my board, he begged the lift operators to let us up. It was already after 4:00 pm, so there was no one else there.
It started snowing again on our way up. It was so cold, like 12 degrees! But when we got to the top of Peak 9 there was a photographer there; one of the regular guys who snaps pics for the resort and then you can buy them later. Anyway, he took some cute pics of Adam and I posing, and then asked if we needed anything else before heading down the mountain. That was Adam's cue. He got down on one knee, said some cute stuff, took out a (gorgeous) ring and popped the question. Then more pictures! It was very romantic at the top with the snow falling :-) It was just the 2 of us up there, enjoying the moment and snowfall.
The second best part was we got to board down the whole mountain alone (well followed by a medic who was making sure we got down OK)! It was a blue run, not an easy feat for this boarding n00b! I managed to make it halfway down on my own, then got towed the rest of the way. Romantic! That evening, we took a sleigh ride to a beautiful dinner at a lodge at the top of Peak 10 where they had a sign for us and a bottle of bubbly waiting. Wow, what a day! - KK"
Testimonial about Elizabeth Cryan Photography:
"I couldn't be happier with Liz, her team, and her services! We had a few choices in mind, but my husband and I are so glad we made the decision to work with her. From the beginning, she impressed us with her knowledge, professionalism, and easy-going, fun spirit. Even though we never met Liz in person before the wedding, she took the time to meet with us via Skype and over the phone to check in, provide suggestions, and answer all of our questions. She and her staff really took care of us on the day of our wedding, being proactive, keeping us on schedule, and making everyone feel comfortable. Our photos are gorgeous! We love all of the settings she took us to, capturing different light and backgrounds. We would definitely work with Liz again, and recommend her to others."
