Alison & Jeff {Denver Wedding}

You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for Jeff and Alison's wedding.  The gardens at Hudson Garden's were lush with the greenery of mid-summer and we were able to catch the gorgeous golden light.  I couldn't be happier to have been able to document the union of these two.  I felt an immediate connection with both Alison and Jeff.  Alison is a music teacher and Jeff is a graphic designer and they are both incredibly talented.  Jeff brewed the beer for their wedding day along with designing a lot of other special details.  Here's a bit as to what Alison wrote about their relationship and wedding!

How did you two meet...

Jeff and I met in college.  I went out with some girl friends for one of their birthdays and my best friend brought her boyfriend who also brought Jeff along.  We started talking and hit it off.

How did he propose?

Jeff surprised me at the airport when I was coming back from visiting a friend in Dallas.  He held signs that talked about how much he loved me and then got down on one knee and popped the question.  He also had our families watching secretly on the side as well as someone video taping the whole thing!

Describe your wedding...

"Our wedding was the best day of my life,not only because I got to marry my best friend, but also because of all the special and personal touches we added.  We did almost all of the decorating ourselves.  Pinterest and I became very close friends over the year we took to plan the wedding.

My husband is a graphic designer and he made all of the signs that we had around the ceremony area as well as the reception area.  We had a wine theme throughout the wedding, so we collected corks and wine bottles to make our own centerpieces, place card holders, boutineers, as well as few other decorations.

My favorite project I made was my bouquet.  I used broaches from both my husbands and my grandmothers and mixed them in with silk flowers.  Having that piece of our families as my "something old" was something I really treasured and can keep forever.  Having those special touched that made our day special and were something we could keep to remember our wedding was important to us.  We also had each guest take a small rock before our ceremony.  They were asked to pray and think good thoughts over the rock during the ceremony and we collected them during our communion portion.  My husband and I put the rocks in a decorative bowl that now sits on a shelf in our home.  Seeing those rocks every day is something that is very special to us."

What advice would you give to couples on wedding planning or their wedding day...

"If I could offer some advice to future couples on their wedding day I would say," in the end, you're still married."  So many people get caught up in the planning and the details and they forget what their wedding is truly about.  If some of your plans fall through, or something doesn't work out the way you had hoped, the outcome is still the same.  You will be married to the man or woman of your dreams, and that's all that really matters."

What was it like working with Elizabeth Cryan Photography?

 "Liz is great!  She is fun, sweet and knowledgeable.  We had Liz do our engagement photos and loved them so much that we had to have Liz do our wedding photos too!  Photos can be stressful for some people, but Liz really put us at ease.   She is so fun and personable, it's like taking photos with a friend!  We had many family members say how much they loved Liz and her team during our wedding, as well as once they saw the final product!   We will definitely use Elizabeth Cryan Photography again and have already referred her, and will continue to do so!
