“We had been dating for almost a year, and were planning on taking a trip to Mexico to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. I had purchased the ring a few weeks before in anticipation of giving it to her while we were down there (I was planning on doing it one night after we had gone to dinner, and were taking a stroll on the beach). However, as we got closer and closer to leaving, I got nervous about traveling with the ring and quite frankly feared the worst. So the day before we left I had decided I was going to do ask her, well as you can imagine I was nervous all day trying to plan the perfect time. Polly was upstairs packing her bags and I figured that while she was busy it would be the best time, because I wanted to have the surprise factor! So I snuck into the closet and grabbed the ring out of my hiding place, went into the bedroom and plopped down on one knee behind her. Polly turned around and saw all 6’8″ of me down on one and the surprise on her face was priceless! I stumbled through my words and finally asked her to spend the rest of her life with me and she immediately said yes! It was really a spur of the moment decision to ask right then and there, but it was simple and perfect. It was without a doubt the best day of my life, and as a bonus we got to celebrate our first vacation together as an engaged couple!” – Chris
Polly and Chris are one of the most fun couples that I’ve photographed! They originally wanted to do their engagement session while it was snowing, so when I discovered the Ice Castle in Breckenridge, I knew that would be the perfect option for them. We had an absolutely gorgeous warm day on the last weekend that the Ice Castle was open and WOW was it a cool, unique setting! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this year.
